When I thought about what to do for my letterhead I thought more "signature-esk" and something more classical...as I got into it more I realized inDesign didn't have the materials to make it look how I wanted. Or maybe it was and I didn't have the knowledge of what to do? When I looked at letterheads online they were very creative and I couldn't think of my own way to make them creative. So I went with what I thought was the best.
I made mine more of a girly feel, but not too girly. It does not have too much pink in it, its very suttle with for the text and some black so it doesn't give too much pink feel. I followed that whole look throughout each project. Except I dropped the black line in the business card and the envelope because I felt that it was too much.

First post for design journal
1. It is important for students to learn about design because we will most likely need some forms of this. If we are preparing a brochure, or a poster we will need to know design elements. Things like what goes where, and also where it looks good, and where it doesn't look good, colors that go better with others. It teaches us so we can use it for our career. It needs to be appealing to the audience, that is a reason that it is helpful for communication majors to study design.
2. Good design matters because if something is very cluttered the audience will just look away and not even pay attention to what there is too show. This might mean your product/event will not get the attention it deserves. So in order to fufill the needs of the audience you have to adjust it to things they need, like what the poster/brochure or whatever your creating has on it.
